Safeguarding

Safeguarding statement

“Staff know their pupils well. Leaders have created a caring ethos.” OFSTED 2019

At Woodgrange Infant School Staff and Governors are concerned that all aspects of school life are ‘fair’ and ‘safe’ for pupils, staff, parents, carers and all our visitors.

Key policies apply to staff, governors and volunteers working in school and are in place to ensure that:

  • The school practices ‘safe recruitment’ with regard to checking the suitability of all staff and volunteers who work in school
  • The school has a firmly embedded ‘child protection’ policy
  • The school is a safe environment in which children thrive and develop
  • Where we have concerns about a child’s safety or well-being we will contact relevant outside agencies and may do so without first informing parents if we feel this will safeguard children

The Designated safeguarding lead (DSL) is SARAH SOYLER, Headteacher.

The deputy DSLs are: Shama saeed and Dana Dajani.

If you are worried about a child you can contact them OR contact LB Newham social care via the LBN website.
